Raspberry Shortcake Smoothie

This smoothie should be enjoyed while listening to 'Mmm, Yeah.' by Austin Mahone. Not to toot my own horn but it's seriously good.

This smoothie is nutritious and delicious but it is also has oats in it meaning it is more filling than your average smoothie. Raspberries are fantastically good for you, and adding spinach means you have one less serve of veggies to eat for the day! Too easy.

You will need:
  • 1/2 Cup Raspberries (I went for frozen berries)
  • 1 Banana - the riper the better
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Small Handful of Baby Spinach (let's keep it healthy)
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Oats
  • 1 Teaspoon of Agave Syrup (This can be replaced by honey)
  • 2-3 drops of Vanilla Essence
  • OPTIONAL 3 teaspoons of coco powder or 2 teaspoons of ground cacao nibs (for all you chocoholics)

Directions:
Add raspberries, banana, spinach and oats (and coco/cacao nibs) to a blender, blend.
Add the milk, vanilla essence and agave syrup and blend again.
Pour into glass and top with more berries and oats or some more cacao nibs.

Have a lovley day!

P.S. If you halve the amount of milk and let this sit in the fridge for a few hours  it will turn out to be more of a parfait/mousse.
P.P.S.  Check out my Choc, Nut Smoothie is you're more of a chocoholic!
